The Round Guy’s music venue The Underground in it’s short, but venerable history has a a habit of providing a fresh groove. This continues August 12th when you can catch Mike Guldin and the Rollin’ and Tumblin’ live. The two-time International Blues Challenge finalists invariably deliver tight arrangements and complex, yet grooveable, sound. Led by Mike Guldin, who was born and raised in Philly, the band expresses “rollin’ and tumblin’” by mixing classic rhythms with original funk and Mike’s growly lyrics. Mike started playing guitar at 16, inspired by Blues legends including B.B. King and Howling Wolf. He mixes this influence with a modern sensibility and a dash of R&B/Soul. The other band members consist of C.J. Clark on bass, Tim Hooper on piano, Alan Howe on lead guitar, Karl Frick on Hammond B-3, and Billy Wear on drums.
