Max Kraus got into bass when he was young, real young. His father steered him away from the violin for the equally physically demanding instrument of the bass. And so started his love affair with both the instrument and jazz.
Welcome local boy, Max Kraus on Friday, December 29th as he brings his collection of talented performers to stage in the Underground. Max’s story isn’t so much a unique one as it is a coming of age. Kraus grew up through the North Penn School District, moving on to spending four years practicing music at Temple University. Then, he decided to take the big leap and boarded a big old jet airliner for the sunny shores of California.
Once in Los Angeles, he discovered a world more fruitful than he ever imagined. Complete with highly talented fusion jazz players, a lively and active big band scene, and a blended myriad of global sounds. Kraus formed his quintet in 2014 and looks forward to spreading some of the new sounds under a festive and lively jazz atmosphere back home in Lansdale.
